Editorial design for NCA Clinical Management of Rape and Intimate Partner Violence training manual

I was approached by Norwegian Church Aid to develop the layout design for the Clinical Management of Rape and Intimate Partner Violence Training Manual and accompanying presentations.

The aim of these training materials is to support a 5-day training on how to provide first line of support and clinical care to survivors of sexual violence and intimate partner violence, including women, girls, men and boys.

This set of documents are intended to be used by health care providers working in humanitarian emergencies.

The main idea was to create a design that kept in line with NCA guidelines, while creating a system that Wass easy and clear for the facilitators to navigate. I created several abstract illustrations to help facilitators identify and relate to different sections of the document.

Illustrations

Due to the level of seriousness of the content on this training program, it was decided in agreement with the project manager the use of abstract illustrations instead of pictures or descriptive illustrations.

I developed a series of illustrations to represent each of the eleven sessions on the program, to aid facilitators identifying different sections of the document and make it easier to navigate through the training manual and presentations.

Presentation materials

As part pf the project, I was commissioned to design a series of presentations to complement the delivery of the 5-day training course. Eleven presentations were designed to go along with each of the sessions on the training manual.
